Understanding Neuromotion Therapy

Neuromotion Therapy - Learn All About It

Why Choose Neuromotion Therapy?

Neuromotion therapy is revolutionizing in-home rehabilitation for those suffering from neurological issues. Israeli medical device companies are utilizing this form of treatment that targets patients who have gone through, or are suffering, from neurological complications that have made it difficult for the individual to perform mobile activity. Neuromotion therapy or neurorehabilitation aims to help with recovery from disorders prominent in the central nervous system including trauma to the spinal cord and brain, Multiple Sclerosis disease, CVA, and Parkinson’s disease. The advantage of the many forms of neuromotion therapy is that they can be performed at home and can easily tend to the needs of the patient.

The focal point here is the brain. Many individuals find it obscure that physical and active movement can affect brain power. However, prime examples in research reveal an obvious trend in how these two interlink. Crawford and Jerath (2015) state that afferent signals that are produced throughout the body can modify emotional processes in the brain detected by the autonomic nervous system (ANS). For instance, worry and stress can in turn create problems with muscles, blood pressure, the stomach, and more. Neuromotion therapy focuses on this interrelationship between the mind and the body by offering techniques that help create a positive flow.  Neuromotion therapy services are provided by practitioners and experts in the field with an abundance of knowledge surrounding the area of neurological pathways and muscle movement.

Treatment in neurorehabilitation highlights the effects of brain plasticity or neuroplasticity. This is the ability of neural networks in the brain to fluctuate through reorganization and growth. Adapting new coping mechanisms physically wires neural connections that encourage resilience in the brain. Transformational outcomes of this form of therapy have been evident in all ages and those struggling with a variety of illnesses.

These include:

  • Individuals struggling with movement, memory loss, and poor balance
  • People suffering from chronic pain in all areas of the body
  • Children who have been diagnosed with a developing disorder or condition such as:
  • Cerebral Palsy (CP)
  • Asperger's syndrome
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Brain trauma
  • Challenges in learning and behavioral development

These disorders have a severe negative impact on performing daily activities and decreases the independence of functional mobility. Salute Rehab Ltd has partnered with Chaban Medical to produce rehabilitation devices following neurological conditions. This includes the device Just Walk which is an advanced neuro-motion therapy device designed to care for those in need of rehabilitative care after being diagnosed with a neurological disorder or suffering from complications after a stroke. This product is clipped onto either side or both, of a wearable belt, depending on where the injury stems from. The device applies an adjustable linear resistive force throughout the full motion of the limb that increases the sense of movement between the brain and the spinal cord. The limbic system then receives an improved signal resulting in rapid improvement in the detected limb. This resistive force can be easily adjusted by the user. This device is specifically designed for at-home use and can be adjusted and maneuvered without any assistance.

Stroke patients are one of the many individuals that are benefiting from the technological advancements and care derived from neuromotion therapy. Salute has conducted research for
medical device production that provides preliminary data showcasing a drastic change and improvement in patient outcomes after using the Just Walk device. The benefits of this device have been evident in elderly patients, those with cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis, and those who have suffered from complications post-stroke. Salute will also begin a clinical study using 35 stroke patients to better understand the benefits of the Just Walk device in more patients, covering a wider range of conditions.

Neuromotion therapy aims to increase physical function, reduce the symptoms of some debilitating symptoms, and overall improve the patient’s quality of life. Neuromotion therapy continues to advance technology and research regarding neuroplasticity and the interrelationship between neurological pathways in the brain to the body.
